About Astrid

Hi! I’m Astrid Delestine, a recent graduate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oregon State University. I’m currently preparing for my EIT/FE certification and seeking opportunities where I can contribute to the future of consumer electronics, power electronics, and neural interface technology.

My engineering background is a blend of academic learning, hands-on projects, and real-world experience. Through the MECOP internship program, I completed a full year of professional internships with Datalogic and Leviton, where I contributed to product design, testing, and system integration in industry settings.

Outside of internships, I’ve worked on personal and collaborative projects involving custom 18650 battery systems, USB-C power negotiation circuits, embedded computing platforms, and remote access terminals. I enjoy building systems that are efficient, compact, and human-centered — especially when they sit at the intersection of usability and innovation.

I’m also passionate about free and open source hardware and software. I believe in the power of accessible, community-driven development, and I frequently license my work under permissive licenses like the MIT license to encourage reuse, learning, and collaboration.

My journey into engineering started with four years in the FRC FIRST Robotics program during high school, where I served as vice president and team captain. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for collaborative problem-solving, rapid prototyping, and leadership. I’m also an Eagle Scout and a lover of the outdoors, always seeking opportunities to grow — whether in nature or in the lab.

Whether you're working on the next generation of consumer devices or exploring new frontiers in brain-computer interfaces, I’d love to connect. Thanks for visiting — and feel free to reach out!
